Cosmic Ray Detector Project

The intent of this project is to design a large area counter and associated data acquisation hardware and software. The design needs to be inexpensive, robust and easy to build. Several counters at different locations would gather data and transfer the acquired data to a central point for comparison and analysis.

Goals: The goal for this project is to have a network of detectors capable of looking for small and fairly rapid variations in the Comic Ray count rate. This would allow identifing and studying phenomon that cause the variations. Things such as varitations in the thickness of the earth's atmosphere.
